Figuring out Food

I chose Smartfood White Cheddar Popcorn because it is my favorite snack and I eat it almost every day! It also has 13 ingredients that are easy to understand. It is a delicious snack that, while not terrific for you, is better than some other snacks I could reach for.

Some things that I do not understand about the nutrition label is that in the ingredients list it says that there are enzymes in the cheddar cheese, and I am wondering why those are included and if it effects the taste. Are the enzymes in the cheddar cheese what give the popcorn coating that slimy whiteness?

I also do not understand the difference between calories and calories from fat. Also what is the difference between total fat, saturated fat, and trans fat?
