Science and Cooking, Who Knew?

Here, you can follow along with me as I explore Chemistry in the Kitchen! I will be sharing my adventures through pictures and descriptions of the fun cuisines that I am cooking. I’ve grown up helping my mom in the kitchen when it came to baking cookies and sweet treats and I’m excited to start cooking food that is not only healthier, but also more practical for a meal. I decided to take this course because I’ve been fascinated with Chemistry ever since I first took it. I love the idea that everything around us is made by elements. To me, Chemistry is something that one can understand, rather than memorize which makes it fun to learn. My biggest hope for this course is to understand the connection between cooking and Chemistry so that when my Chemistry Major Mom asks me technical questions about the stove top or oven, I can answer them. I intend to leave this course with valuable information about cooking that will help me in the kitchen. Follow along as I learn about the elemental tools for a successful kitchen.
